International family law
A substantial part of our advisory practice involves international family law. We can answer questions on subjects such as applicable succession law, winding up of an estate, choice of law, wills, custody after divorce, paternity, nationality, child abduction, adoption, descent, maintenance, marriage, marital property law and registered partnerships.
We can also answer questions on (international) property law, including security interests and enforcing these interests, breaches of contract under an obligation, debt assignments, limitation periods and purchases, rentals and transfers of title of real estate. In addition, we address an increasing number of questions on cross-border attachments and execution law, enforcement of security interests and recognition and execution of foreign judgments. We can help you resolve the bottlenecks that can arise through the application of various European Regulations in this field.
